Deep-Dive Jams ($50)
Our advanced free form, deep-dive jam sessions offer the more experimental and adventurous musician opportunities to connect with other like-minded players in a semi-structured yet improvisational playing environment focused on things like improvising chord progressions, patterns, and riffs as inspired by a particular style, and exploring spontaneous arrangements and instrumentation. Nobody ever breaks new ground by doing the same old thing... so come put your creative playing talents to work and participate in a UMF deep-dive jam session today!
These sessions are designed to provide participating musicians with a "collaborative" jam format for the free-form experimentation and creative exploration of different musical genres and styles. Each session will explore various musical styles (rock, blues, funk, metal, etc) providing experienced recreational musicians (including drummers, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, horn players, etc.) with diverse musical idioms to explore, experiment, and collaborate within.
The parameters are few with the only "loosely" defined rule being an agreed upon commitment to make music that explores a particular, in-the-moment, musical theme while simultaneously pushing the musical comfort zone of everyone involved. Musicians are also encouraged to bring their own musical ideas to the group for playing and improvisational consideration too.
These jams are facilitated, friendly and non-competitive by design and should be approached with an open mind, the desire to have fun, and a willingness to work together by sharing knowledge as well as listening and respecting each others thoughts, ideas, and playing perspectives. Contact us with any questions you might have prior to signing up.
